Jan. 4, 2007 - LAI International, Inc., announced record sales of $23.5 million in 2006, up 29 percent from $18.2 million in 2005.

LAI is known as the world‚s largest combined laser and waterjet machining service provider.

"We are seeing continued growth in our power generation niche and in both defense and commercial aerospace sectors," Stewart Cramer, president of LAI, said. "Business is also increasing with products related to automotive, armor, electronics and medical industries."

Founded in 1979, LAI operates four manufacturing facilities nationwide, including LAI East, Westminster, Md.; LAI Midwest, Fridley, Minn.; LAI Southwest, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Southwestern Laser, Tucson, Ariz. LAI was acquired in 2005 by Spell Capital Partners, LLC, Minneapolis, Minn. LAI‚s corporate headquarters are located in Scottsdale, Ariz.

LAI provides complete supply chain management for its customers, from acquiring and processing raw materials into final products to manufacturing finished assemblies.

LAI specializes in precision waterjet processing and laser machining to manufacture complete components for aerospace, automotive, defense, electronics, medical, power generation and other industries.

The company provides High-Definition Waterjet MachiningTM, and precision waterjet cutting and drilling services. LAI also offers advanced laser machining services, including high-speed cutting, small-hole drilling, precision welding and localized heat-treating.
